Yes.  You read that correctly.  Detox Chocolate Fudge.  This recipe is a true testament to all those who think nutrient-dense eating is devoid of flavor, satisfaction and enjoyment.  And this recipe is dairy, gluten and refined sugar free.  It is anti-inflammatory, filled with magnesium, healthy fats, protein and fiber and tastes decadent.  A triple threat.

Let’s talk AVOCADOS.  I used to avoid them like the plague.  Too high in fat, right?  Well, no more.  I saw the light and let go of that mentality.  Welcome these into your world with wild abandonment.  And feel A-MAZING!

Avocados are fantastic fruits with tons of nutritional benefits. They are an excellent source of glutathione, a powerful antioxidant that helps cleanse and protect your body by detoxifying, removing heavy metals, and fighting free radicals.

Glutathione helps maintain a healthy immune system and slows the aging process. Avocados are rich in folate, which has been shown to decrease the incidence of heart disease and stroke. They are also the best fruit source of Vitamin E, which protects against many diseases and helps maintain overall health.

Not only are avocados packed with nutrients, but studies have shown that certain nutrients are absorbed better when eaten with an avocado. Enjoy an avocado in a lettuce wrap, on a salad, blended into a smoothie, in a nutrient-dense treat, as a snack with sea salt, part of a brown rice and black bean bowl.  The possibilities are endless.  LOVE ‘EM!

Detox Chocolate Fudge
I used to LOVE making the traditional sweetened condensed milk, fluff fudge at the holidays or remember going to an amusement park or Niagara-on-the-Lake with the homemade fudge slabs. Desserts, in my opinion, should be rich and sweet. This recipe is so much more. Delicious with the knowledge of whole food nourishment. No sugar crashing. Great combination of protein and healthy fats!

  1. Place the avocado and dates in a food processor and blend until creamy. Add cashews and coconut oil. Process. Can leave nuts a little chunky or blend smooth. Add remaining ingredients and process until a sticky dough forms. Transfer dough to a parchment lined loaf pan or 8 by 8 square dish. Press into the pan firmly. Sprinkle turmeric and sea salt over and place in freezer for 4-6 hours ... if you can wait that long! Remove and cut into individual bars. Store in fridge or freezer. ENJOY!
